Jamshedpur, October 8: ‘Jamshedpur Women’s College’, established in Bistupur in the year 1953, is. It is going to enhance its status as the ‘First Women University’ of Bihar and Jharkhand with the new campus at Sidhgora.
Jharkhand Governor C. P Radhakrishnan who is also the chancellor of the varsity will inaugurate the Sidhgora Campus of the University on October 11 as the chief guest while Chief Minister Hemant Soren will be the special guest.
University’s vice chancellor, Anjila Gupta said that “Jamshedpur Women’s University came into existence on June 22, 2022. From starting 11 new vocational courses, speedy implementation of NEP 2020, starting PhD, becoming a part of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) soon, among other achievements of NCC girl students, NCC students have become part of India’s national team in Russia.
Jamshedpur Women’s College received the status of ‘College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)’ for the first time in the year 2006 and autonomous status in the year 2008.
The foundation stone of this university was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2019.
Academic work of some science and some vocational departments will also be completed, while some departments of Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, Science and some vocational courses will continue to carry out their academic work in Bistupur campus.
