Jamshedpur, Nov 15: Jamshedpur Women’s University celebrated the completion of 25 years of Jharkhand’s formation with a grand cultural event on Saturday. The ceremony was attended by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Anjila Gupta, university officials, faculty members and a large gathering of students.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by felicitation of guests. Proctor Dr. Sudhir Sahu delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of the state’s silver jubilee year. Speakers reflected on Jharkhand’s development journey, its cultural heritage and the historical struggles that shaped the state.
A detailed report of the four-day activities held from November 11 to 14 under the directive of the Higher and Technical Education Department was also presented. Students showcased vibrant performances including folk dances, folk songs, debates and poetry recitals, all of which highlighted the rich traditions of Jharkhand.
Following the Vice-Chancellor’s motivational address, an award distribution ceremony was held to honour the winners of various competitions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Registrar Dr. Salomi Kujur, followed by the national anthem.
