Jamshedpur, July 5: Jamshedpur Women’s University officially inaugurated its internship program for undergraduate students across various faculties including Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science. The orientation program on the theme “Village and Culture” was held at the Audio Visual Hall of the Bistupur Campus.
Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sahu, Head of the Humanities Department, addressed students from the departments of Sanskrit, Bengali, Odia, Urdu, and Philosophy, sharing details about the internship structure and expectations. Faculty members Dr. Rizwana Parveen, Amrita Kumari, and Dr. Jaya Ghosh were also present.

The Department of Home Science launched its two-month internship at the Urban Training Center managed by Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC). During the orientation, Dr. Swati Shikha gave a detailed presentation outlining the internship schedule, while Dr. Rohit discussed key aspects of community nutrition. The students will complete their training under the supervision of Dr. Abhishek, Associate Professor of Community Medicine, and will submit progress reports every two weeks. Faculty members Dr. Rama Subramanian, Dr. Pushpa Lata, and Sanchita were in attendance.
An orientation for B.Com students was also conducted, introducing them to their internship project focused on Market Research.
Students from the Botany and Zoology departments began their two-month internship at Tata Steel Zoological Park. Dr. Naim Akhtar, Deputy Director of Zoo, welcomed the students and briefed them on the internship objectives.
Internships were also launched for English, Hindi, Geography, Psychology, Commerce, Economics, History, and Music students during a session held at the Bistupur Campus. Each subject has been assigned a unique, application-based theme aimed at enhancing practical knowledge and skill development in real-world contexts.
