Jamshedpur Women’s University joins Association of Indian Universities

Jamshedpur, March 2: Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) has been conferred the membership of Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The membership was granted at a meeting of AIU held recently. AIU has sent a letter to JWU in this connection. JWU Spokesperson Sushil Kumar Tiwary said the JWU had started working as an independent university last year. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Anjila Gupta was making sincere efforts to get AIU membership for JWU. All formalities were completed to get the membership, said Tiwary. According to the VC, “Getting AIU membership is not only a matter of pride but would also provide greater academic and co-curricular exposure to our students. It will also make funding a lot of activities easier. Now the university will be able to send our players to various sports meet or competitions. This would give JWU its own identity.”
