Jamshedpur Women’s University’s 2nd Convocation on Feb 4, students to pay Rs 700 for attire

Jamshedpur, Jan 29: Preparations for the 2nd Convocation Ceremony at Jamshedpur Women’s University are in full swing, with various committees working closely under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta to ensure the smooth execution of the event. Daily meetings are being held to review the progress of preparations and the university administration has released several important announcements related to the convocation.

As per the latest update, students registered for the convocation can collect their costume and identity card from the Sidhgora Campus between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM on January 30, 31 and February 1, 2025. To receive the attire, students must present their dress fee payment slip of Rs 700 at the designated counters. Upon returning the attire after the convocation ceremony, Rs 500 will be refunded, while Rs 200 will be deducted as laundry charges.

The university has also set guidelines for gold medal recipients, who are allowed to bring two guardians with them to the venue, provided they have valid identity cards issued by the university. No person will be allowed to enter without a valid ID and attendees are advised not to bring small children.

Regarding the dress code for degree holders, the university has specified that students must wear either a white salwar suit with a red dupatta or a white saree with a red border or cream-colored saree. All students are required to report to the Sidhgora Campus by 9:00 AM on the day of the convocation.

The administration has also shared the detailed room-wise costume distribution plan for various departments at the Sidhgora Campus. Students from M.Sc. Zoology will collect their attire from Room 101, while Room 102 will cater to B.Ed. students (with specific enrolment numbers) and M.Com. students (from enrolment numbers 223206412210 to 223206412307). Room 103 is designated for M.Com. students (from enrolment numbers 223206412308 to 223206412398), while Room 104 is reserved for toppers and rank holders.

Further, Room 108 will handle distributions for M.Sc. (Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry), MCA, MLISc. and M.A. students from Bengali, Economics, Sanskrit and Hindi departments. Room 110 will cater to students from M.A. (English, History, Home Science, Odia, Philosophy), M.Ed., MBA and M.A. (Geography, Political Science, Yoga and Psychology). Meanwhile, students from M.Sc. Mathematics and Physics will collect their costumes from Room 111.

Following the convocation, students must return their attire at the Sidhgora Campus on February 4, 2025, after the program concludes. The university administration is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that all arrangements are in place for a successful and memorable convocation ceremony.
