Jamshedpur Women’s University: Enrollment for UG, PG as usual on Chancellor portal

Jamshedpur, July 7: After the implementation of the New Education Policy – 2020, there is some confusion among the students for enrollment in more or less all universities and colleges this year and the Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) has come forward to clear the confusion.

JWU in a communique on Friday said that for both general subjects or vocational, the process of application for enrollment in the year 2023 for both undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate (PG) is going on as before on the Chancellor Portal.

This time there is no separate application for honors in graduation, all the girl students should select the ‘regular’ option while applying.

It may be noted that under NEP – 2020, the four-year undergraduate program Four Year Undergraduate Program – (FYUGP) has been implemented. The University is implementing all the provisions of NEP – 2020 at a rapid pace and has been implemented by getting FYUGP approved by the Board of Studies of all subjects in its initial year 2022 itself.

The four year undergraduate program is providing four entry and exit points for students per year as per the provisions of NEP – 2020. Due to this system giving special benefits to the girl students, there is a system of giving certificate to the girl students even after getting married or due to financial constraints, which can be used for studies later if the situation is favorable, apart from employment, without loss of any year.

Girl students can complete their graduation anytime by enrolling in the next year beyond the course of study. Along with this, the way in the past one had to complete graduation from one institute only, this has also been exempted. For example, a girl student settled in another city after marriage with one year certificate course can start 2nd year from the same institute. Another provision for meritorious students is that they can study in more than one institution simultaneously. Under FYUGP, certificate will be given in one year of graduation, diploma in two years, degree in three years and certificate of degree (including research) on completion of four years. In this way, after studying for four years, the kind of skill and expertise will be acquired, after which one can get PG degree in just 1 year and will also get eligibility for research.

Obviously, there is no compulsion to choose Honors option initially, rather all apply under Regular and then there is option of Major and Minor for selection. In this, the girl students should carefully choose the major subject according to their interest, because on completion of four years in the same subject, there will be opportunities to study for further specialization.

NSUI protest at JWU for  intermediate admission

Jamshedpur, July 7: Even after the Jharkhand government’s order, no decision has been taken regarding admission in the new intermediate session in Jamshedpur Women’s University, nor is any concrete information being given to the girl students and parents in this regard.

These girl students and their parents are seen roaming around the university campus. At the same time, the concern of teachers and non-teaching staff working in the intermediate section of the university is also increasing.

On the other hand, on Friday, under the banner of NSUI, girl students and parents staged a sit-in protest demanding the intermediate section in the university and continuation of its studies.

NSUI leaders alleged tha the process of online application for admission in intermediate in other colleges of the city is being started while the enrollment of Women’s University Administration is not being started.
