Jamshedpur, Feb 21: In a collaborative effort between Bank of Baroda and the Humanities Department, Jamshedpur Women’s University hosted a cultural extravaganza on February 21, 2024, to commemorate International Mother Tongue Day. The event unfolded in the university’s auditorium under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Anjila Gupta, the Vice Chancellor of the University.
The distinguished gathering included key figures such as Registrar Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal, FO Javed Ahmed, and the Dean of Humanities Faculty, Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sahu. Dr. Nupur Anvita Minj, the Program Coordinator, added her valuable presence to the occasion.
Students showcased their linguistic prowess by presenting various languages, including Maithili, Urdu, Mundari, Bangla, Oriya, Kudukh, Santhali, and Bhojpuri, along with a diverse array of language genres. The program aimed to instill a sense of dedication to one’s mother tongue among the new generation while fostering the preservation of linguistic heritage.
Adding prestige to the event, Sunil Kumar Saha, Deputy Regional Head of Bank of Baroda in the Jamshedpur region, graced the occasion as the chief guest. His presence underscored the collaborative spirit between the financial institution and the academic realm in promoting cultural diversity and linguistic richness.
