Jamshedpur, December 14: On Thursday, vicious miscreants entered a house in Repeat Colony under MGM police station and cheated a woman of jewelery worth lakhs in the name of cleaning jewellery.
The incident was carried out by two miscreants riding a bike. On receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and interrogated the victim’s family. Along with this, the CCTV installed nearby was checked.
With the help of CCTV footage, the police has started tracking down the miscreants. According to the information received, two youths riding bikes reached the house of Beauty Singh, resident of Repeat Colony. They lured her by pretending to be an employee of Patanjali company and asked them to clean the jewellery.
After this the woman gave all her jewelery to him for cleaning.
When the two miscreants reached home, the first thing they did was to shine the anklets and earrings using some powder in a packet. After this, they were asked to bring the gold present in the house soon and told that if the jewelery is not brought soon, the effect of the powder would be lost.
Beauty Singh immediately gave all the gold jewelery. Both put the jewelery in a packet on the pretext of cleaning it and went away, saying that it should be kept in the fridge for some time.
After some time, when Beauty Singh took out the packet from the fridge and opened it, there was no jewelery in it, only powder. Only then did she realize that she had been cheated.
In this case, police station in-charge Raju said that after the matter came to notice, action has been started. The matter is being investigated
