Jamshedpur, June 9: Three bike-borne criminals made an abortive attempt to snatch a gold chain from a woman near Tata Workers Union School in Kadma on Thursday.
Failing to get the chain, the culprits pushed the woman and her daughter on the road, causing them severe injury, sources said.
Sources said the incident took place in broad day light when the woman, Indu Rai, and her daughter were returning to their house at Gitanjail Apartment near Bhatia Park from Kadma Market on a scooty. As the two neared KD Flats, three youth came near them and tried to snatch gold chain from Indu Rai. When the culprits failed in their attempt, they pushed the mother-daughter duo and fled away. Indu Rai sustained serious injuries on her face. Her daughter, who rode pillion, was also injured in the incident.
A crowd of commuters and local residents rushed to the scene and informed police about the incident. The victims were taken to Steel City Nursing Home at Bistupur.
