Jamshedpur woman and daughter missing since Jan 5, police clueless

Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Sundernagar resident Moumita Mandal and her four year old daughter has been missing since January 5. Her husband, Trilochan Mandal a contract worker  at Tata Steel while filing a written report in the Sundernagar police station mentioned that on January 5, he had left for duty when his father-in-law Jagdish Mandal rang him and informed that his wife and daughter were not at home. Trilochan expressed fear of some mishap may have happened to his wife and daughter.

The Sundernagar police has so far been unable to find any clue to the ‘sudden disappearance’ of the mother-daughter duo. Efforts are being made by family members and kin to trace Moumita Mandal and the four year old daughter. Trilochan reported that efforts were made tpo contact Moumita over the phone but her mobile was switched off. Trilochan also said that on the second day of her disappearance, his wife had called up to inform that she was going to Gujarat. After that he and the other family members were unable to contact her. It is also being feared that some unknown person had lured her away. Moumita hails from Judi under Potka police station.

Sundernagar police station OC said in this connection that efforts are being made to trace the woman and the child. They are looking through her phone’s call records for details and clues. The OC also stated that since Moumita Mandal’s mobile phone was switched off her location could not be ascertained.
