Jamshedpur, Jan 9: Archana Sharma, a resident near Janta Market in the Govindpur police station area, has alleged that Kamlesh Yadav and his brother forcibly evicted her from her home, throwing out her belongings and physically assaulting her on Tuesday evening. The men also allegedly threatened to rape her.
On Wednesday, Archana filed a complaint with SSP Kishore Kaushal, accusing the Govindpur police of inaction. The SSP directed the Govindpur police station in-charge to investigate and take appropriate action. A case has been registered in the police station based on her complaint.
Archana stated that the house was in her mother-in-law’s name, who sold it to Kamlesh Yadav without her knowledge. She has already filed a court case over the ownership, with the decision still pending. On Tuesday evening, Kamlesh allegedly demanded that she vacate the house, and upon her request for a court order, he began abusing her, assaulted her, and threatened her.
She informed the police by dialling 100, after which Tiger Mobile personnel advised her to submit a written complaint. However, during her visit to the Govindpur police station, Kamlesh and his associates reportedly locked her house and threw her belongings outside. Left without shelter, Archana, her husband, and their child spent the entire night outside in the cold, affecting her health.
Archana also claimed that despite her repeated calls for assistance, no action was taken by the police. The incident has raised concerns over the handling of property disputes and police response in the area.
