Jamshedpur, July 13: An old woman was found in an abandoned condition at Khasmahal Chowk under Parsudih police station area on Wednesday. She was allegedly left in the lurch by her son. Local residents took her to Parsudih police station where the officials sent her to Old Age Home, Baradwari for shelter.
Members of Sanskriti Social Welfare Foundation met the woman and tried to locate her family members and relatives in Khasmahal, Golpahari and other adjoining localities. On failing to any information about her home, the police officials sent her to the Old Age Home.
The NGO members arranged for the food and transportation of the woman. They appealed to her relatives to take her back to her house and look after her.
