Jamshedpur Winter: Westerly adds sting to winter chill, no relief till Jan 15

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Jan 7: Westerly wind flowing across Jharkhand has led to a decline in the minimum temperature of the city.

Met department sources said the wind speed of 8 km per hour was recorded at 11.30 am here on Saturday. At 8.30 am, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 25 degree Celsius and 9.8 degree Celsius. The cause of the dipping mercury levels is westerly winds, sources said.

According to weather expert Abhishek Anand, “There is no possibility of any relief from chilling weather for the next three days. Cold winds will blow and increase the chill. Due to high wind speed, sunshine will also not given much relief against cold. In the low-lying areas of the state too, there will be no relief. The chilling weather will continue till 15th January.”
