Jamshedpur girls win 19th Youth Jharkhand Basketball Championship

Jamshedpur, Aug 22: Jamshedpur girls defeated team East Singhbhum18-11 in the final to be crowned the winner of 19th Youth Jharkhand State Basketball Championship on Monday.

The final match in boys’ category was played between East Singhbhum and Ranchi. Team Ranchi beat East Singhbhum 25-14 to secure the first position. East Singhbhum stood second while Sindri was third.

Arjit Mishra of East Singhbhum Boys team and Kenny Lal of Jamshedpur Girls were declared the best players.

DSP Kamal Kishore was present as the chief guest during the closing ceremony.

Shahnawaz Alam, Vice President, Tata Workers Union, Hassan Imam, Handball Coach, Mukul Chaudhary, CEO, Jamshedpur FC, Ashok Das, Chief Engineer, Irrigation Department were present as the guest of honour.

Guests honoured the winning team. Jharkhand State Basketball Association President Bharat Singh congratulated the players and wished them luck for bright future.

Secretary JP Singh, Treasurer Ramkumar Upadhyay, Senior Vice President Shivshankar Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Technical Committee Chairman Yogesh Pandey, Dinesh Sharma, Rohit Singh, Sanjay Mishra, Shatrughan Singh, Mohammad Arif, Mohammad Azhar, Subodh, Supriya, Mohan, Veerdhan Marandi and others were present.
