Jamshedpur: Will airlift the girl for better treatment if required, says Health Minister Banna Gupta

Jamshedpur, Oct 16: Health Minister Banna Gupta on the directives of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, on Sunday visited TMH to inquire about the health of the class 9 girl student of Shardamani Girls High School, Sakchi, who attempted self-immolation by pouring kerosene on herself on Friday. Minister advised the doctors to provide the best treatment.

Gupta also met the family members of the girl and said that the culprits will not be spared.

He informed that the government will arrange for complete treatment of the girl and if required she will be airlifted to other city for better treatment.

It is worth mentioning that the girl was allegedly caught cheating during her science exam. The invigilating teacher reportedly made her take off her clothes which was protested by the minor. But the teacher reportedly did not listen. Later, on reaching home at 5 pm, the girl poured kerosene on herself and set herself afire. She sustained 50 per cent burns and was admitted to MGM Hospital and was later shifted to TMH.
