Jamshedpur: Virendra Ram wanted to field wife in Assembly polls

Jamshedpur, Feb 21: Virendra Ram, Chief Engineer of Rural Development Department of Jharkhand government, wanted his wife Rajkumari to contest the state Assembly elections held in the year 2019. He wanted his wife to contest from Jugsalai and Kanke constituencies. However, a political party approached by the couple had denied ticket to Rajkumari after reportedly finding her ‘not eligible’ for contesting elections. During the ED raids at his various properties, the officials are delving into his relations with many politicians and the powers-that-be of the state. This is not the first time when ED has raided Ram’s residences.
