Jamshedpur Vinay Singh murder: Gang involvement suspected, Call records under scanner

Police Trace Strong Lead in Vinay Singh Murder Case, say Breakthrough Imminent

Jamshedpur: Tension gripped the steel city on Sunday night after Vinay Singh, Jharkhand state president of Karni Sena and a prominent Hindu outfit leader, was found brutally murdered near the National Highway-33 under the jurisdiction of the MGM police station. The chilling murder is suspected to have been orchestrated by a notorious criminal gang based in the Mango locality, raising concerns over law and order in the region.

Singh, 40, a resident of Sahara City in Mango, had stepped out of a shop near his residence around 9:30 pm after receiving a phone call. He reportedly rode off on his Scooty toward Dimna Chowk, but never returned. As hours passed without any trace of him, worried family members and associates began a frantic search, which led to a horrifying discovery — Singh’s bullet-riddled body lying in a field about 300 metres off the highway near Baliguma.

His licensed pistol and Scooty were recovered from the spot, suggesting he was possibly lured into a trap before being shot at close range. The scene pointed toward a well-planned execution rather than a random act of violence.

Police sources have hinted that the murder was not a spur-of-the-moment crime, but a deliberate and sinister plot hatched by elements from within Singh’s own community. According to insider information, Singh had been involved in a long-standing rivalry with a known criminal in the Mango area — a clash of egos and influence rooted in local turf wars. This rivalry, sources claim, reached a breaking point in recent weeks as both men sought to establish dominance in the increasingly tense neighborhood.

SP (Rural) Rishabh Garg, stated, “We have found a strong clue about the gang responsible for the killing of Vinay Singh. We are working on the lead and hope to crack the case very soon.”

Garg also confirmed that the police are analysing call records and surveillance footage to piece together Singh’s final moments and identify those involved.

The brazen nature of the murder sent shockwaves through the community and sparked an immediate reaction from Vinay Singh’s supporters. Around midnight, a large group of Karni Sena members and local residents blocked Dimna Chowk, demanding swift action and immediate arrests. The blockade continued for a couple of hours, causing traffic disruption and prompting additional police deployment to prevent escalation.

Chanting slogans and holding placards, the protestors raised serious questions about public safety and the growing audacity of criminal elements in the city. They expressed deep anguish over the loss of a leader who had been actively engaged in social and religious affairs.

Vinay Singh was known for his outspoken views and rising influence within the Hindu rights circles in Jharkhand. His increasing popularity, particularly among youth in Mango and adjoining areas, had reportedly made him a threat to certain elements operating in the grey zones of crime and politics. His murder, according to political observers, is a blow not just to his followers but also to the fragile peace in an area often caught between development and unrest.

With public pressure mounting, police have intensified their investigation. Forensic teams have visited the crime scene, and surveillance footage from nearby shops and traffic points is being scrutinized. Sources say the police are closing in on key suspects and an official breakthrough may be announced within days.
