Jamshedpur: Veteran Bollywood ‘Bad Man’ Ranjeet honours Chhau Guru Tapan Pattanaik

Seraikela, Oct 16:  Chhau dance Guru Tapan Kumar Pattanaik was honoured during a glittering awards ceremony on the occasion of the Third Jharkhand National Film Festival (JNFF) at XLRI by the ‘notorious Bollywood Bad Man’ Ranjeet who observed on the occasion, “It is indeed a great honour that a ‘Bad Man’ has been bestowed the pride of honouring an extremely good Guru of Chhau Nritya, Tapan Kumar Pattanaik for his dedication towards this internationally acclaimed dance Shaili.”

Guru Tapan Kumar Pattanaik, on being honoured, stated, “Any honour is a stimulant. I have dedicated whatever skill I have to ensure that this rich heritage of Saraikela Chhau Nritya Shaili does not get lost or buried by the sands of time. In fact any honour or recognition is a stimulant to devote to any art form. I will remain obliged to the JNFF team for giving me this honour for my humble contribution to this great Chhau Shaili.”

JNFF honours social activist Sumit Chowdhury

Seraikela, Oct 16: Young social activist, Sumit Kumar Chowdhury, was honoured at the Third Jharkhand National Film Festival (JNFF) for his outstanding contribution towards social causes. Sumit said on the occasion, “It indeed feels good to be recognized for my humble contribution to society especially among the deprived and needy people. This recognition will spur me to work with enhanced dedication for mankind.”
