Jamshedpur, May 29: An unmarried woman from Potka has approached district administration officials for justice after being allegedly cheated by her lover. She alleged that her lover had physically exploited her after promising to marry her. When she got pregnant, she asked him to marry her. But the accused refused to keep his promise. The woman gave birth to a daughter under a tree. Due to low weight during birth, the child is not in good health, she told officials.

The woman’s father accompanied her to the office of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Vibha Sinha who ordered Anganbari Sevika Sukmati Sardar to provide all facilities available to the victim. She said the child would be vaccinated and provided nourishment without delay.

District administration officials said the woman would be provided all possible financial and legal help, sources said.
