Jamshedpur, Oct 3: The court of additional district judge (ADJ-13) Jamshedpur court, Prabhakar Kumar Singh, today sentenced Pankaj Dubey and Sheikh Heshamuddin alias Kabir to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 each for murder of Tata Main Hospital doctor Prabhat Kumar at his residence in Bistupur on December 17, 2009. In arms act the court announced ten years of imprisonment to both the criminals.
The court gave verdict after listening to a total of 18 witnesses. Apart from this SFL report and copy of mobile CDR also played a vital role. During Pankaj Dubey’s arrest on January 20 a gun was recovered from his possession and during investigation it was found that the same gun was used for the murder of Dr. Prabhat.
Mobile CDR made it clear that Pankaj was present at the crime spot.
After the verdict today, Dr. Prabhat Kumar’s wife Anamika Kumar said that both the convicts should have been hanged as they have been involved in serial crimes and have ruined several families.
On December 17, 2009 evening two men arrived at Dr. Prabhat’s residence in Northern Town. When they rang the bell Dr. Prabhat’s wife and son came out, when asked about the two men said that they have come for treatment.
Doctor’s wife Anamika Kumar told them to wait and went inside and soon she heard gun shots. As Anamika rushed out she saw his husband Dr. Prabhat lying down in pool of blood. Dr. Kumar was the state president of BJP medical cell.
