Jamshedpur: Two-day central executive meeting of All India Union Bank Employees Association

Jamshedpur, July 27: The two-day central executive meeting of the All India Union Bank Employees Association (AIUBEA) commenced on Saturday at Sakchi Agrasen Bhawan. Representatives from various states attended the meeting to discuss critical issues facing the bank’s employees.

Central General Secretary Jagannath Chakraborty highlighted the main demands discussed at the meeting, including the acute shortage of employees in Union Bank, the regularization of service for daily wage workers who had been working for years, the implementation of minimum wages, and the immediate dismissal of employees despite receiving transfer orders since years.

Chakraborty announced plans for a nationwide strike in Union Bank branches on September 30, 2024, to address these demands. The issues will be discussed extensively, and a final decision would be taken on Sunday, the second and concluding day of the meeting.

Central Vice President Ajay Kumar Mahanty, State General Secretary Munindra Lal Singh, Advisor Gopal Chandra Tiwari, and other dignitaries were present as guests at the event.
