Jamshedpur: The Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) granted bail on Monday to a tuition teacher accused of physically assaulting two minor students. The court reached the decision after hearing arguments from both the defense and the prosecution regarding the incident reported in Jugsalai.
Background of the Case The legal action follows a written complaint from a parent who alleged that a teacher at a private coaching institute severely beat his children during regular classes on March 10, 2026. According to the complaint, the assault left the children with physical injuries and significant mental distress.
After the children narrated the ordeal at home, the family sought medical treatment at a government facility before transferring them to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) for specialized care.
Legal Charges and Defense Based on the parent’s statement, the Jugsalai Police registered an FIR under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including:
-
Section 115(2) & 117(2): Voluntarily causing hurt and grievous hurt.
-
Section 126(2) & 127(2): Wrongful restraint and confinement.
-

Advocates Shiv Shankar Prasad, Sudhir Kumar Pappu, and Babita Jain represented the accused teacher. They presented arguments seeking bail, which the court ultimately granted.
