Jamshedpur: The body of 37-year-old footballer Zeeshan Riaz was recovered from Beldih Lake on Sunday morning under suspicious circumstances.
A resident of Dhatkidih under Bistupur police station, Zeeshan had been missing since Friday evening around 4 PM. His family had been searching for him but found no clues.
On Sunday morning, locals spotted a body floating in the lake and informed the family, who identified it as Zeeshan. Police reached the scene, retrieved the body, and sent it to Tata Main Hospital (TMH), where he was declared dead.
Zeeshan, the elder of two brothers, left behind a grieving family. Eyewitnesses claimed that he had a history of substance addiction, though the exact cause of death remained unclear. The body was sent for post-mortem, and police launched a detailed investigation into the case.
