Jamshedpur: TSAF cadets win 8 medals including 4 gold in Open National Bouldering Competition at Lonavala

Jamshedpur, May 27: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) Sport Climbing Academy cadets won eight medals (four Gold and four Bronze) in recently concluded Open National Bouldering Competition held at Lonavala on May 24-25.

Competitions were held in 4 different categories-Open, Youth A, Youth B and Kids-Male & Female. More than 150 athletes from different parts of the country participated in the competition. A team of 40 athletes from various grassroot centres of TSAF Sport Climbing Academy participated in this competition.

The medal winners include- Shahzada Khan from Parsudih centre won gold in Kids– Boys category. Akash Soren from Tinplate Centre bagged gold in Youth B Boys category. In the Youth B Boys category Sunil Mahato  from Tumung Centre took home Bronze medal.

In the Youth B Girls category, Sangita Tiyu from the Bagunhatu Centre clinched the gold medal, highlighting her impressive skills and dedication.

The Youth A Boys category featured a strong performance from Rahul Mahato of the Tumung Centre, who earned a bronze medal.

For the Youth A Girls category, the Training Centre produced two outstanding medalists: Muskan Bandra won the gold medal, and Laxmi Tamang earned the bronze medal.

In the Men’s category, Talim Ansari from the Training Centre secured a bronze medal.

Grassroot system of TSAF Sport Climbing Academy is developed and supported with the help of Tata Steel Foundation and JCAPCPL. The athletes were accompanied by six grassroot coaches, one Strength & Conditioning coach, one nutritionist and an office admin from TSAF Sport Climbing academy.

The team had left for Lonavala on May 22 and would return on May 28.
