Jamshedpur, May 2: A meeting of tribal leaders and community members was convened in Gadra to discuss about preparations for the upcoming Vishu Shikar Parv or Sendra (annual ritual hunting festival of tribal people).
The meeting was convened by the Dalma Raja Rakesh Hembram. It was decided to celebrate Sendra with fervour on 9th May. Several groups of tribal men would reach Dalma with traditional weapons and puja items. Only rituals would be followed and no wild animal would be hurt during the Sendra festival, said Hembram.
Forest department officials and members of Dalma Buru Sendra Samiti will be holding a meeting tomorrow to further discuss about the venue and timing of the festival, sources said.
