Jamshedpur: A sombre atmosphere enveloped the village of Jwalabhanga in Badamara Panchayat as news spread of the untimely demise of a female elephant on Tuesday night. The majestic creature lost its life after colliding with an electric wire near the local airstrip in Chakulia.
The lifeless body of the elephant was discovered in a field, sending shockwaves through the community. Villagers, who had recently spotted the elephant near a pond, had promptly alerted the Forest Department about the presence of the majestic creature in their vicinity. The Forest Department initiated an extensive search, but the elusive elephant proved challenging to locate.
Tragically, the female elephant, now identified to have suffered a hind leg wound, continued to roam in this condition. The discovery of her lifeless form has left the community in mourning.
