Jamshedpur, May 9: Crossing Burmamines railway over-bridge has become a challenging job for commuters these days. This is because of the traffic jam witnessed every day without fail, especially during the afternoon and evening.
Although there is a ban on the entry of heavy vehicles through the Burmamines over-bridge, many vehicles are seen plying here during the daytime. Monday afternoon turned out to be one such day as a long queue of vehicles could be seen making their way through the over-bridge from Star Talkies to Jugsalai Ghoda Chowk. The traffic jam continued for over two hours.

Commuters blamed the plying of heavy vehicles on the over-bridge as the main cause of road jam. Due to absence of traffic police officials, the commuters are forced to make their way through the sea of vehicles in the scorching weather.

In the afternoon, absence of cops leads to breach of no entry orders of the district police, said a local trader.

Similar situation is witnessed at Mango Bridge where one flank has been closed for traffic due to ongoing repair work.

The work is expected to get over in next few days, sources said.
