Jamshedpur traffic goes haywire for several hours

Jamshedpur, April 26: Traffic came to a standstill in Mango on Tuesday as hundreds of vehicle queued up along the Dimna Road for hours to make way through the congested road. An ambulance was stuck in the jam which has now become a norm for daily commuters.

The road jam was cleared after several hours of tribulations faced by the citizens. On getting information about the jam, traffic cops were rushed to the scene to clear the road for the ambulance.

Sources said the huge number of vehicles passing at the same time through the narrow Dimna Road and Mango Chowk leads to the snarl-up everyday without fail. Despite tall claims by the traffic police, the situation rarely improves on any given day, said Rajnish Mishra, a resident of Dimna Road, who was in a hurry to reach his office at Bistupur this morning.

One major reason for the jam in the last one month has been the blocking of one flank of the Mango Bridge due to ongoing repair work. After a few days, the other flank is expected to be blocked for repairs, sources said.
