Jamshedpur, July 14: Traffic came to a halt near Sanjay Market in Sakchi on Thursday, just a day after removal of encroachment from the Straight Mile Road. Heavy waterlogging prevented commuters and local traders from crossing the road normally following intermittent rains.
Local traders blamed the construction of footpath along the main road for the waterlogging problem. They said the problem started just a day after the anti-encroachment drive closely followed by construction of a footpath late night.
The traders said they had apprised the district administration authorities and Tata Steel UISL officials about the inconvenience caused to them and the public by faulty construction of pavement.
