Jamshedpur to host Jharkhand Women’s Badminton Tournament from March 7

Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand Badminton Association is set to host the prestigious Asmita Sports for Jharkhand State Women’s Badminton Tournament from March 7 to March 10, at the Tata Steel Badminton Training Centre and Mohan Ahuja Stadium in Jamshedpur. Sanctioned by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the tournament will feature over 40 players from various districts across the state.

With a total prize pool of ₹90,000, rewards will be distributed among winners, runners-up, and semifinalists. Notably, only three states—Assam, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand—are conducting this exclusive tournament, making it a significant event for women’s badminton.

Jharkhand Badminton Association Secretary K. Prabhakar Rao emphasized that the tournament will serve as a platform to identify and nurture young talent in the state. He encouraged badminton enthusiasts to attend and witness the thrilling competition.

The tournament is expected to boost the state’s badminton prospects, offering emerging players an opportunity to showcase their skills at a competitive level.
