Jamshedpur, January 23: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) is all set to host the 6th edition of the Tata Steel Climbing Championship 2026 from January 24 to 27 at JRD Tata Sports Complex. The event will bring together over 300 climbers from four countries — India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Nepal — in one of the most prestigious international climbing competitions of India.
The championship will feature competitions in Speed, Lead, and Boulder climbing across multiple age categories: U11, U13, U15, U17, and Open, making it a truly inclusive and high-performance sporting event for young and elite climbers alike.
A Flag Unfurling Ceremony will be organised on January 26 at 9:45 AM at the TSAF Climbing Academy venue. The ceremony will be graced by D. B. Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony will be followed by prize distribution, cultural performances, celebrating the spirit of sport, unity, and national pride.
The closing ceremony will take place on January 27, honoring outstanding performances across all categories.
The Championship will conclude on January 27 with the finals of the Speed Relay event, marking a high-energy closing to the international competition.
For the children participants, a drawing competition will take place from 24th to 26th January, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. Recreational and wellness activities such as Golf Putting and Zumba sessions will also be conducted, ensuring a holistic sporting and cultural experience for all participants.
