Jamshedpur, Sept 20: United Football Association (UFA), Manifit will be organising 17th Mohan Singh Memorial one day flood light football tournament at DVC Ground, near Manifit Telephone Exchange on October 1, said organizing committee chairman Prashant Singh Putul.
Addressing a press meet at Sakchi on Wednesday, Putul informed that this year’s tournament promises fierce competition and attractive rewards for the participating teams. The champions will walk away with a grand prize of Rs 50,000 while the runners-up will receive Rs 35,000. The third and fourth-placed teams will receive cash rewards of Rs 11,000 and Rs 7,000, respectively, in addition to a coveted trophy.
Putul further said that a total of 32 teams are set to grace the tournament with their presence, adding to the excitement and competitive spirit.
Informing about the rules and regulations, he stated that it will be seven players a side game and every match will be of 15 minutes duration and in the event of a draw, the winner will be decided through penalty shoot-out and the decision of the umpire will be final.
To ensure fair play and adherence to rules, the tournament organizers have enlisted the assistance of experienced JSA referees, guaranteeing the successful conduct of all matches.
Teams eager to participate in this prestigious event are required to pay an entry fee of Rs 3500, with the last date for entry set for September 26th. As of now, 17 teams have already registered their intent to compete, organisers said.
Notably, the tournament will see the participation of Kolkata’s renowned team, Mohammedan Sporting Junior, adding a touch of excellence to the competition.
Also present at the press conference were Kulwant Singh, Rajesh Singh, Subhdarshi, Dharmendra and Rajesh Singh.
