Jamshedpur to get its first plants and planters store

Jamshedpur, Nov 12: If you are looking for a plant to brighten up your home or life here’s your chance to do so. Drawing lessons from the health loss caused to people by the coronavirus, Jamshedpur residents and Flower Show Champion Prerna Todi and Vikas Sharma have taken the initiative to spread the message of greenery in the city.

Under this initiative, they have come up with East India’s first of its kind plants showroom ‘Flora Fort’ at 38 CH Area North West (near Ashiana Gardens). This one of its kind showroom will be inaugurated on November 14.

Prerna Todi and Vikas Sharma, Partners, Flora Fort said that the showroom has introduced an exclusive range of air purifying plants. They can be used at home, office, hospitals, gyms everywhere. They are used to increase the oxygen level in the atmosphere. The showroom also offers a special range of planters and stones for interior decoration.

They informed that the spider plant removes up to 90 percent of the harmful substances that cause allergies in the home environment in just two days. It removes contaminants like carbon monoxide, benzene and formaldehyde from the air. The best part is that it is very easy to maintain this plant.

Snake Plant is also a good plant to enhance the beauty of the house and also in terms of health. This plant plays an important role in removing the humidity from the atmosphere of the house. At the same time, it is also helpful in maintaining the necessary moisture in the houses during the cold days. Bamboo, rubber and areca palm are very common plants. But their usefulness is not less than anyone.

The most unique feature of ‘Flora Fort’ is that one will get a variety of plants and planters under one roof. Prerna Todi and Vikas Sharma said that people can enjoy their holidays without any worries. The showroom offers a range of self-watering planters that water the plants in their absence and take care of all water related concerns. This eliminates the hassle of watering the plants every day.

He said that greenery gives happiness and freshness to the mind. It is also helpful in reducing home-office stress. This is the reason that people now use it as a decoration. Not only this, soil is also not needed for these plants as cocopeat, vermicompost and perlite are used as a mixture to make the pot lighter.   

Workshops will also be organised in ‘Flora Fort’ to spread awareness related to greenery among the people.
