Jamshedpur, June 28: The Special Officers of all three municipal bodies of the city were called to a meeting convened on Tuesdy by the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board and Regional Pollution Control Board to discuss ways to free the city from pollution.
Krishna Kumar, Special Officer, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), said a CNG based waste management plant would soon be set up in the city to free the city from pollution. “The three municipal bodies were directed to keep the pollution levels between 2.5 RPM and 10 RPM so that the city gets funds from the 15th Financial Commission so that the city is made pollution free,” he said.
Kumar said discussions were also held on installation of pollution control equipments. He said tenders had been invited for setting up the CNG based plant. He further said that 20,000 saplings would be planted in the city this year. Two movable air pollution measuring instruments would be installed in the city, he said.
