Jamshedpur: Tinplate Company MD RN Murthy spells mantra for success at SCCI meet

Jamshedpur, Sep 6: A meeting was organized by Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Tuesday themed on development of enterprise and business. The Managing Director of Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL)

 R N Murthy was a special invitee to the SCCI meeting where he addressed the members of the Chamber. TCIL’s Deputy General Manager Sanjay Malhotra was also present on the occasion.

Welcoming RN Murthy, SCCI President Vijay Anand Moonka thanked him for accepting the invitation to address the members. Moonka urged the TCIL MD to give priority to local vendors on the lines of Vocal for Local. The SCCI President assured that local businessmen and entrepreneurs were ready to supply requirements of the Company as per its needs.

TCIL MD, RN Murthy, in his address stated that the century old company was giving priority to local businessmen and entrepreneurs. Explaining the parameters of TCIL, Murthy said, “Businessmen and entrepreneurs have to lay emphasis on testing and quality as these are the essentials of success. We can attain progress by being customer-oriented. Instead of holding meetings, we have to go out to them and focus on their problems and try to resolve them. Make products according to their specifications.”

Explaining his point of view, he came up with an example of TV remote. “No customer ever asked TV manufacturers for remote controls. Instead, it was the TV manufacturers, who, keeping in view customers’ problems while changing channels, came up with the idea of providing remote controls along with the television sets. The demands for TV sets shot up.”

Expressing his observations on startups, TCIL MD, RN Murthy said, “All startups today are concentrating on by going among the people and noting their problems and taking their business and industry forward in their chosen fields of entrepreneurial and business activities.”

Answering questions put up by businessmen and entrepreneurs present in the meeting, RN Murthy informed, “There are different departments at TCIL and there are appointed officers to solve various issues. You can always contact them to seek solutions to your problems. If the problems still persist, you can contact me.”

SCCI’s Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia while anchoring the meeting provided a detailed introduction of TCIL’s Managing Director RN Murthy and Deputy General Manager Sanjay Malhotra.
