Jamshedpur, Dec 17: A timber trader, Manoj Kumar Gupta, was seriously injured in an alleged attack by a dozen assailants on 16th December last. He was robbed of Rs 8000 in cash and a gold chain. The accused persons threatened to shoot him while decamping, sources said.
Gupta lodged a police complaint against Anshu Singh Chouhan, Amit Singh Chouhan and two others in this connection. He said the accused persons had come to his timber yard and demanded three quintals of timbre in extortion. When he asked about the money, they assaulted him.
Police said they were verifying the allegations. No arresting has been made in this case.
