Jamshedpur, Jan 9: In a tragic road accident near Surda Union Bank under Ghatshila sub- division’s Musabani police station area on Friday evening, three youths were killed and one critically injured after their scooter rammed into a stationary Hyva truck.

The four victims, all residents of Jagannathpur in Ghatshila, were returning home from their in-laws’ place in Surda when the accident occurred around 7.30 pm.

Due to poor visibility, they failed to notice the Hyva parked on the roadside and crashed into it.

Rohit Karmakar (21), Sameer Karmakar (18)—two brothers—and their cousin Raj Gope (17) died on the spot.

The fourth rider, Rahul Karmakar (26), another brother, sustained serious injuries and has been referred to MGM Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Police from Ghatshila and Musabani reached the hospital and are investigating the incident, as grief-stricken family members and villagers gathered to mourn the young lives lost.
