Jamshedpur, April 24: Jamshedpur East Independent MLA Saryu Rai has claimed that traffic snarls in Mango would not be reduced by building a third bridge near to two bridges.
The former cabinet minister has termed the idea impractical from technical, financial and traffic point of view.
“Neither Tata Steel nor the Road Construction Department of Jharkhand Government has taken any decision regarding this. If an engineer or any officer has started a survey for this, taken soil test sample and asked for NOC from Tata Steel, then his technical knowledge and administrative experience is questionable. Any such decision may be a model of vested interest motivated political thinking, but may not be appropriate and practical from the technical and financial point of view,” claimed a release issued by the former BJP leader.
The leader has suggested that government should resume the stalled work of construction of flyover and road from Anna Chowk to Govindpur, build a bridge and road from Litti Chowk to NH-33 on Swarnrekha via DPS, Connect with Old Purulia Road by building a bridge over the river in front of Jamshedpur Circuit House and increase width of the existing bridge.
According to MLA Saryu Rai, if anyone has a political obstinacy to build a third bridge, then my advice is that they should leave this stubbornness, otherwise there will be suffocation. The state will be defamed separately and money will also be wasted. Self-satisfaction of such political obstinacy can also be done by breaking the old thin bridge and building a wide new bridge in its place. But no balanced mind can think of reducing the traffic burden of mango by constructing a third bridge here and the one above can never advocate such distorted thinking.
