Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Thieves executed a well-planned robbery at a flat in Chandravati Apartment in Parsudih police station area, making off with jewellery worth lakhs and cash amounting to Rs 50,000. The incident occurred while the residents, a ration shopkeeper and his wife, were away at their shop, leaving their flat unattended.
The thieves broke into the apartment by cutting the lock on the main door and looted two almirahs. “We had saved our earnings in jewellery and cash, but all of it is now gone,” said the victim, Samim Khan, a ration shopkeeper and resident of the flat.

The thieves also left behind tools used for the burglary, including a cutter and a screwdriver, which were later found by police officers during their investigation. “We have recovered the tools left by the criminals. Our team is analysing nearby CCTV footage to identify the culprits,” said a Parsudih police official.
In a disturbing twist, the CCTV cameras installed in the apartment were out of order, which has raised questions about the security measures in place at the building. The residents claim that despite multiple complaints, the builder has not fixed the cameras. “The building security system is useless. We’ve been complaining about the faulty cameras for months,” said a resident of the apartment.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter and have urged residents to enhance security in the area.
