Jamshedpur theatre artistes honored at Cuttack All India Theatre Festival

Jamshedpur, June 13: Prominent and hailed theatre artistes from Jamshedpur’s PATH (People’s Association for Theatre) organization, Chhavi Das and Mohammad Nizam, received prestigious recognitions at the All India Theatre Festival organized by Nikhil Utkal Kala Niketan in Cuttack, Odisha.

Chhavi Das, renowned for her exceptional acting prowess showcased in plays such as “Panchhi” and “Gadhe Ki Baraat,” was bestowed with the Natya Ratna award in recognition of her 20 years of dedicated contribution to theatre. Mohammad Nizam, recognized for his multifaceted expertise as a writer, director, and actor spanning over 40 years, was honored with the Natya Shri award for his extensive involvement in providing numerous stage presentations and conducting theatre workshops.

The awards were presented at Annapurna Theatre in Cuttack by local MLA Sofia Firdaus, adding to the pride of not just PATH but the entire city of Jamshedpur. Expressing their gratitude, Chhavi Das and Md Nizam emphasized the significance of cultural responsibility and vowed to continue their dedication to the performing arts for the benefit of generations to come.
