Jamshedpur: A teenage girl injured herself on Tuesday following a domestic dispute in the Sakchi vegetable market area. The incident occurred after her elder brother confiscated her mobile phone to curb her excessive screen time.
Family members stated that the teenager repeatedly demanded her phone back, triggering a heated argument between the siblings. During the altercation, the girl used a blade to slash her hand and neck. The sudden act created panic in the household, prompting relatives to rush her to MGM Hospital immediately.
Doctors at MGM Hospital confirmed that the teenager remains in stable condition and out of danger. The medical team continues to provide necessary care and observation.
Following the incident, Sakchi police personnel visited the hospital to gather details. However, the family has not lodged a formal complaint. Preliminary inquiries indicate that emotional distress and a domestic disagreement caused the self-harm.
