Chaibasa, July 18: A woman, identified as Neelima Tamsoy, assistant teacher of Upgraded Middle School, Khuntpani, died in a road accident on the Chakradharpur-Chaibasa main road on Monday. The mishap occurred when a Tata Magic vehicle hit her at high speed. She was going to attend a departmental meeting at the Block Resource Centre, Khuntpani, sources said.
Sources said the teacher fell on the road and lay there for sometime before being spotted by several colleagues who happened to pass by the main road. She was taken to Chaibasa where she was pronounced brought dead.
The teacher’s scooty was badly damaged in the incident.
Police said the teacher died of critical head injuries. They said a case had been registered in this connection.
