FIR against class teacher for neglecting her complain

Jamshedpur, April 19: Sakchi police have registered an FIR against a teacher and the management of Tagore Academy, Sakchi, for neglecting the incident of stinging of a class II student by bee in the classroom on 31^st March last.

According to police, Harshita Chandra, the said student, was stung by a bee during class hours. The bee entered beneath her uniform and started stinging her multiple times at various places. Unable to bear the stings, the girl complained to her classteacher. But the class teacher reportedly rebuked the girl for bothering her unnecessarily.

On reaching home, Harshita fainted due to unbearable pain. Her parents took her to a doctor who told them the girl had sustained bee stings. Due to stinging, the girl also got infection, the doctor told her parents.

Harshita has been admitted to Tata Main Hospital. Upset over her ill health, her parents have demanded stringent action against Harshita’s class teacher and the school management.

The school principal said Harshita’s parents have neither met her nor complained regarding the incident. “There is no beehive in our school. But there is one in the adjoining building. Bees sometimes fly into the campus. We try to drive them away through smoke. We are ready to assist the girl in every possible manner,” she said.
