Jamshedpur sweeps gold in all categories at 5th CISCE Regional Carrom tournament in KPS Kadma

Jamshedpur, August 2: Kerala Public School (KPS) Kadma hosted the 5th CISCE Regional Carrom Tournament 2024 from August 1 to August 2. The event kicked off with the hoisting of the CISCE flag, followed by a ceremonial lamp lighting to mark the auspicious start. The inaugural ceremony featured a performance by the school choir and a welcome dance, adding to the festive atmosphere. Principal Sharmila Mukherjee offered words of encouragement, while Chief Guest and District Sports Officer Avinash Tripathi extended his best wishes to the participants.

The tournament saw over 240 students from six regions competing in Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 categories for both boys and girls. The first strike was made by Tripathi, P. Gopi Rao, Sharat Chandran, and Mukherjee. The event culminated with the closing ceremony on August 2, attended by Vibhuti Dhand Adesara from Tata Steel and Anup Kumar Singh, President of the East Singhbhum Carrom Association. Jamshedpur secured top positions in all categories.

The Jamshedpur region won gold medals in every category, and the winners of this regional tournament will advance to the 5th CISCE National Carrom Tournament scheduled for October 26-28, 2024, at Shelling House School, Kanpur Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Jamshedpur emerged victorious in every category: Under-14 Girls: Jamshedpur (Winner), Bhagalpur (First Runners-Up), Under-14 Boys: Jamshedpur (Winner), Ranchi (First Runners-Up), Under-17 Girls: Jamshedpur (Winner), Ranchi (First Runners-Up), Under-17 Boys: Jamshedpur (Winner), Ranchi (First Runners-Up), Under-19 Girls: Jamshedpur (Winner), Dhanbad (First Runners-Up), Under-19 Boys: Jamshedpur (Winner), Ranchi (First Runners-Up).
