Jamshedpur, June 9: The scorching heatwave continues to grip Jharkhand, including Jamshedpur, with temperatures soaring to alarming levels. The mercury shows no signs of respite as the maximum temperature in the city has crossed the 43-degree Celsius mark. The humid conditions exacerbate the discomfort experienced by residents. Abhishek Anand from the Meteorological Department’s Ranchi Center predicts minimal relief from the heat in the coming days, with the monsoon expected to arrive in Jharkhand between June 15 and 20. As of Friday, the maximum temperature recorded at 3:30 p.m. stood at a scorching 43.4 degrees Celsius.

Authorities have issued continuous alerts to caution people about the extreme heatwave. They advise residents to venture outdoors only when necessary between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and to otherwise remain indoors. Additionally, there is a possibility of rain in certain areas on Friday. Looking ahead to Saturday, a heatwave alert has been issued for the entire Kolhan region, including Jamshedpur. The hourly temperature readings in Jamshedpur on Friday indicate a steady rise in the mercury, with the temperature remaining constant at 43.4 degrees Celsius from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The sweltering conditions have prompted concerns about the well-being of individuals, and residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay hydrated and cool.
