Jamshedpur, Oct 17: A large assembly was held under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan at the Devasthan Auditorium in Burmamines on Thursday, organized by BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar under the leadership of district president Sudhanshu Ojha. The event saw the presence of Jharkhand BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu, among several senior party leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Babulal Marandi highlighted that global politics today revolves around which country’s products dominate international markets. “We must make people aware of the importance of Swadeshi products. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has achieved remarkable progress towards self-reliance in the last 11 years,” he said.

Marandi cited examples of India’s growing manufacturing strength, noting that the country now produces 98% of its mobile phones domestically and exports goods worth over Rs 2 lakh crore. “From two mobile factories in 2014 to over 300 now — this is the transformation of Atmanirbhar Bharat,” he remarked. He also praised India’s achievements in pharmaceuticals and defense, emphasizing that “even Britain now imports 25% of its medicines from India — the very nation it once ruled.”

MP Bidyut Mahato described the campaign as a vital step toward realizing PM Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, urging citizens to adopt the Vocal for Local approach. MLA Purnima Sahu appealed for consistent use of Made in India products, saying, “Every Indian should contribute to making India the world’s third-largest economy.”

The event concluded with a Swadeshi pledge and vote of thanks by BJP district leaders.
