Jamshedpur, Oct 28: A fierce clash broke out between supporters of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and independent Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy in Surya Mandir premises in Sidhgora late on Friday evening leaving many injured.
After the incident, both the groups reached Sidgora police station and lodged complaints against each other, although till the time news reached the press, no FIR was registered.
According to reports, the distribution of fruits and Chhath materials is scheduled on Saturday by Surya Mandir Committee headed by Raghubar Das under the patronage of Chandragupta Singh.
On the other hand, Saryu Roy faction has also organised program of distribution of fruits and a religious program for Chhath devotees. Both the groups erected tents on the eve of the program.
Bhajan Sandhya has been organized by Raghubar Das led committee in the same ground and workers were involved in stage decoration.
Both the groups were involved in preparations and suddenly they started creating ruckus and also threw chairs at each other and as the chairs broke people from both the groups started fighting.
During this, the Chhath puja materials brought for distribution got scattered.
It is not yet known who started the fight but it is being said that the clashes broke out due to old enmity between the groups.
