Jamshedpur Super League logo unveiled

Jamshedpur, October 17: Jamshedpur FC has unveiled a new logo for the Jamshedpur Super League, a grassroots football tournament starting on October 18. The unveiling was done by Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil, who handed the logo to Kundan Chandra, the head of youth and grassroots. In a separate event, Javie Siverio also revealed the logo during a function at Loyola School on Thursday.

The logo is a vibrant representation of Jamshedpur’s heritage and the club’s dedication to nurturing future football stars. Inspired by Lady Meherbai Tata’s historical legacy, the diamond at the logo’s center symbolizes her role in Jamshedpur’s history. In 1924, Lady Meherbai and Sir Dorabji Tata pledged their wealth, including the iconic Jubilee Diamond, to help Tata Steel during a financial crisis. This act ensured the city’s industrial growth, and the diamond now represents the search for future football talent.

The logo features tribal art, celebrating the state’s cultural heritage, with tiger claw elements representing the AIFF’s Blue Cubs initiative to develop young players. The colorful triangles symbolize football’s inclusivity across genders and social backgrounds.

The league runs from October 18, 2024, to March 2025, featuring 70 teams across five age categories: U-5, U-7, U-9, U-11, and U-13. Over 628 boys and girls will participate in 475 matches, making it the longest-running AIFF Blue Cubs League in the country. Of the 70 teams, 33 are from Jamshedpur FC’s Grassroots School, while 37 come from local academies and clubs. Players will gain between 165 and 600 minutes of playing time, depending on their age group.

Matches will be held at JRD Tata Sports Complex and Tinplate Sports Complex, primarily on Fridays and Sundays.
