Jamshedpur, Dec 20: Akshat Sarkar, a Class 7 student from Gulmohur High School, Telco (Jamshedpur), made waves at the 28th edition of IIT Bombay’s Techfest, one of Asia’s premier science and technology festivals held from December 17 to 19, 2024. This year’s festival theme was Sustainnovative Sentience.
Participating in the Blixathon event, Akshat impressed both judges and spectators with his innovative Robobot design, earning the Runner-Up position in the “Best Innovation Category Award” among 1,300 participants.

Blixathon, a crowd-puller at Techfest alongside other popular events like Robowars and Hackathons, provides a platform for young minds to showcase their robotics skills. In the junior category, participants were tasked with building a Robobot and competing in a Robofootball match. Akshat’s Robobot stood out for its efficiency, agility, and unique design, which utilized advanced gear and motor configurations.
His work received praise not only from the Blixathon founder but also from international participants representing several countries. The achievement highlights the creative potential of young talent and the importance of fostering innovation through education.
Gulmohur High School expressed pride in Akshat’s success and credited the school’s state-of-the-art AI and Robotics lab for providing students with an exceptional platform to develop their skills. The school also extended gratitude to the management, teachers, and parents for their support in nurturing the next generation of innovators.
