Jamshedpur, June 21: Students affiliated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a sit-in demonstration in front of the District Education Officer’s office on Wednesday to protest against the closure of admissions for the new session in degree colleges across the district. The students, demanding the commencement of admissions, raised slogans against the council’s decision and expressed their support for the admission process.
Under the leadership of Gaurav Sahu, the district convenor of the council, the students voiced their concerns, stating that if admissions to Class 11 were not initiated promptly, the student council would continue their agitation. The protest began around 9 in the morning and lasted until 2 in the afternoon, with students persistently expressing their demands.

The agitating students had intended to meet the District Education Officer and present their grievances. However, the officer was absent, having attended an important meeting. In her absence, the District Superintendent of Education addressed the students and assured them that the demand of the students would be conveyed to the appropriate authorities. The District Superintendent of Education pledged to provide information regarding the decision within two days. Following this interaction, the students concluded their demonstration and departed from the District Education Officer’s office. Bapan Ghosh, Vivek Jha, Abhishek Kumar, Kartik Jha, Shubham Raj, Priyanshu Raj, Aman Thakur, Siddharth Singh Bagi, Yash Agrahari, and others actively participated in the protest.
